Spring flushing of fire hydrants will be conducted on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 starting at 8:00 a.m. and continuing until all flushing has been completed. Residents may notice lower water pressure and a slight discoloration of the water as the flushing is performed in your area. The discoloration is caused by naturally occurring minerals and sediments and is not harmful. Your water will clear up if you allow the water to run for a few extra minutes.
Flushing is done twice a year in order to remove any sediment that may accumulate in the water distribution system. This operation maintains the overall excellent water quality in our distribution system and ensures that each fire hydrant operates properly and is available for fire protection.
