The Bureau of Fire Prevention is responsible for enforcement of the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code.

The Bureau also issues Permits required for special events such as Fireworks displays, Carnivals and Open Flames in public spaces. 

The Freehold Borough Fire Prevention office has a limited number of free smoke alarms available for low income residents in the Borough. Please contact Fire Official Matthew Young at 732 462-3626 to schedule an appointment to obtain the smoke alarm. Thank you.
