Water and Sewer Rates Effective April 1, 2023
Additional Information:
Owners of swimming pools should notify the Water/Sewer Dept. before filling their pools. The meter will be read before and after the pool is filled, and in this way a credit may be issued for the water which did not enter into the sewer system. No sewer credits will be issued unless the meter is read. The meter read fee is $25 and in order to offset the cost of the fee at least 6,000 gallons must be used.
We perform flushing on all hydrants in the Borough of Freehold two times a year. Notice of flushing dates available in the newsletter and on our website.
Lead is not normally found in drinking water at the source. Typically, lead gets into your drinking water from the service lines, plumbing and fixtures that contain lead. As a result of corrosion, lead and other metals from the pipes slowly dissolve into the water. Many factors affect the amount of lead that leaches into the water, including lead content of pipes, fixtures, and solder, along with water temperature, pH and hardness. Lead is associated with adverse health impacts even at low levels, particularly in infants and children.
